Mark's Admin' Bits (Work in progress)

These Administration files can be run on Excel 97 upwards. They are not State-of-the-Art, but are instead quick solutions to problems given to me (usually at the last minute) by colleagues wishing to sort out their Mock Exam marks, etc. If anyone would like me to tailor them for their own needs then I'd be glad to help if you can't understand how they've been done.

My advice is for you to download the files directly to your hard drive by right-clicking on the link and then selecting "Save Target As..." - otherwise the Excel files may not work fully in your browser window!

• Exam Times: (123KB) This is an Excel file in which the user alters the duration of an Exam and the Worksheet automatically calculates start and end times for the exam at one minute intervals from 8:00am to 5:59pm distributed over 5 printable pages. Also automatically calculated are the end times with 25% extra for pupils having learning difficulties. I've been told by some - temporally challenged - colleagues that it has taken some of the stress out of envigilating external exams! (We now have a folder of Exam times printed out!)
  
  
  
  
• Grade Boundary Scaler: (113KB) This was a file I created for our Modern Languages Department. They wanted to map one range of marks onto another range with the ability to add Bias to the transformation if required. This was an attempt to give their Mock Exam Grading some measure of authenticity.
  
  
  
  
• Grade Percentage Scaler: (43KB) This is a rough and ready file to convert a mark from a given total into a given percentage of 100%. For example in the figure below the top mark of 24 would contribute 30% towards a pupil's final mark. All integer marks up to 24 are then converted to their associated percentage.
